Reimagining Security Sector Support in Crisis-Affected Contexts

These regions, characterised by unique sociopolitical and historical contexts, present diverse challenges and opportunities in implementing effective security sector governance.

This study examines the evolving landscape of community safety, security and policing in conflict-affected regions, focusing on four case studies: Karenni State in Myanmar, Bangsamoro in the Philippines, Lumbini Province in Nepal, and Vanuatu. It underscores the re-emergence of federal, devolved, and autonomous forms of governance as tools to manage intra-state conflicts and support inclusive statebuilding.
