Department of Home Affairs

The Department of Home Affairs houses Australia's federal law enforcement, national and transport security, criminal justice, emergency management, multicultural affairs and immigration and border-related functions and agencies, working together to keep Australia safe. Emergency Management Australia (EMA) is the part of Home Affairs that deals with Australia’s domestic response to emergencies within Australian borders, and administers a number of national capabilities such as Urban Search and Rescue teams.

EMA has a seconded position at ACMC and works with the civil-military-police community to ensure that EMA priorities are considered in any Australian response to disasters and conflicts.
