In the lead up to the World Humanitarian Summit in May 2016, the ACMC’s Executive Director, Dr Alan Ryan will be moderating an online consultation to represent the views of the Pacific Region on Monday 11 June, 2015. To be successful the World Humanitarian Summit is seeking views and perspectives from around the world.
The consultation process will build a thoroughly inclusive and diverse humanitarian system by bringing all key stakeholders together to share innovative solutions and region specific responses to improve humanitarian action.
Contributions made during the online consultation will be encapsulated in an analysis report by the Regional Steering Committee made up of representatives from Pacific governments, regional organisations, UN agencies, the Red Cross, academics, the charitable and private sector.
ACMC encourages all interested parties in the Indo-Pacific Region to participate in the online discussion and share their experiences and perspectives on disaster recovery, protection of civilians, civil-military-police cooperation and the provision of aid during crises.
Co-moderating the consultations with Dr Ryan is industry expert Moortaza Jiwanji, United Nations Development Program’s Pacific Regional Centre and Simon Lambert, Lincoln University, New Zealand.
