Second Annual Civil Society Report Card on the Australian National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security

24 Apr 2015

Women are disproportionately affected by conflict and make up the majority of refugees and internally displaced peoples.

Sexual violence has long been used as a weapon of war, and women are usually the principal targets. The UN Security Council has adopted Resolution 2106 (2013) to recognise the impact of widespread sexual violence in conflict, but much more needs to be done.

Funded by the Australian Civil-Military Centre, the National Committee has developed a training manual on women, peace and security.
