Civil-Military Interaction Workshop 2017

Delivering Joined-up Government: Achieving the Integrated Approach to Offshore Crisis Management.

The Australian Civil-Military Centre is conducting a Civil-Military Interaction Workshop (CMIW) at the Australian Institute of Police Management in Manly, New South Wales, from 19-24 March 2017

The CMIW is a one-week residential workshop which supports the development of effective civil-military-policing capabilities to prevent, prepare for, and respond to conflicts and disasters overseas.

The theme for CMIW 2017 is ‘Delivering ‘Joined-up’ Government: Achieving the Integrated Approach to Offshore Crisis Management’. The workshop program is designed to: promote civil-military-police understanding and engagement; improve networks across government, non-government and international counterparts; and provide a learning environment which enables participants to share knowledge on differing national approaches to civil-military-police interaction during crisis management.

In 2017, the workshop brings together representatives from: Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, USA, UK and Australia working for government agencies, the military and police, Non-Government Organisations and civil society.
