The ACMC hosted a visit from the Bangladesh National Defence College (NDC). The 27-member delegation consisted of senior course members at the Colonel-Brigadier (06-07) level and was led by Air Vice Marshal M Sanaul Huq. The course members are from the Bangladesh armed services and government civilians, the Nigerian armed services and the Indian Army.
Prior to visiting the ACMC, the course members had visited HMAS Kuttabul and Victoria Barracks in Sydney; the Australian Federal Police’s International Deployment Group, and the Department of Defence’s International Policy Division in Canberra. The visit to Australia was part of an international tour for course members to deepen their understanding and study of the political, economic, industrial, defence and social situations in the countries visited.
The delegation raised excellent questions including the complexities of engaging with civil society, the media and the private sector, as well as government and non-government organisations. The visit also provided an excellent opportunity for ACMC’s international secondees from Indonesia and Vietnam to listen to the experiences of the NDC course members.
This visit continues ACMC’s relationship with the Bangladesh NDC who last visited in October 2012.
