Ms Amanda Coghlan is currently the Director of the Concepts and Capability Directorate. Ms Coghlan has significant experience in civil-military collaboration and crisis management including:
- advising senior decision makers on mechanisms to enhance crisis decision making and coordination;
- delivering cross-agency lessons evaluations on recent crises;
- developing preparedness strategies; and designing, executing; and
- evaluating civil-military-police exercises.
Through these roles, Ms Coghlan has engaged/advised senior decision makers through to implementing actors and led a range of programs designed to break down the barriers to multi-agency cooperation. During her time at the Australian Civil-Military Centre, Ms Coghlan co-authored Strengthening Australia’s Conflict and Disaster Management Overseas, developed and led the ACMC whole-of-government preparedness and lessons programs, convened the Civil Military Affairs Conference 2012 on Peace and Stabilisation Operations and provided expert advice to international and regional fora.
